I bought it from him and it activated wihout problems. I'm guessing it will work fine and will be activatable anywhere before they put in region restrictions (if any will be put in place). I know I did get a RU version of The Witcher 2 quite some time ago and I could activate it and play it without problems. They put region restrictions in later and I can still play it normaly, but if someone were to gift it to me now, it wouldnt work. PS: Im not from Russia or any other CIS country for that mater.
