Hello community,
I apologize for not bringing this FAQ over to SteamTrades. I thought members should see it on the SteamGifts forum, but I've been PM'd a couple of times how to use style in threads.
This list should do a lot for the basics and cg added this link to properly use the Markdown syntax. HTML tags are excluded.
Note: Quoting, or blockquoting, is currently not possible.
Note: Tables do not work on SteamGifts.com
Note: Inline images have been disabled. Thread.
Your text between brackets; your link between parenthesis.
Example: [like this](http://www.steamgifts dot com)
Note An alternative method that turns the link into a hyperlink by surrounding your link with angle brackets < and > does not work on SteamGifts.com.
New Note: Alt-text does not work in links. You cannot use [](/ "Example") in your links.
Use two sets of double asterisks as open and closing tags. **
Use two sets of a single asterisk as open and closing tags or use underscores. * or _
Note: You can make text bold and italics by using three asterisks instead.
Use the ` as opening and closing tags.
Example
Use one asterisk or hyphen as the beginning of a sentence, followed by a space. Examples are all up in this post.
Use at least three hyphens on a new line. "---"
Example:
Five spaces on a new line.
The easiest way to create a line break is to end a sentence with two spaces.
Example: This would be ~Two blank spaces.
an example.
Then you will
have this.
Examples:
Header 1
=========
Header 2
---------
Becomes:
or:
Alternative:
# Header 1
## Header 2
##### Header 5
Becomes:

I'm surprised there aren't more comments in here.
What the hell? Where is spam?
How do you find your threads?
Your own threads? Just do a search on the top with the topic title you made.

And if you don't remember your topic title?
infromatica (+42/-0)

why would a post of mine have been closed when i didnt close it ?
If it was related to something against the rules, it was probably closed.

it was just for a playblink code ?

Yup, against the rules. They count as a referral link.

test like this
Why you wont use Wiki markup? This will bring standartized formatting with wikipedia and all wikimedia sites. And it's pretty similar to what you are doing here.
Didn't want to start a new thread, sorry if it doesnt quite match the topic. Is there a way to search your created threads, because if no-one replies to your threads then it can become a huge hastle to find them.
hi
oh
Thank you for this, was confused for a while :]
Hey admins, you shoud make a botton that says something like: "Created Threats", or something like that.. So people could find their own threats much faster :) Just saying :)
test [like this](http://www.steamgifts dot com)
like this
Test
for some strange reason it works in the comments but it fails to work at threads (50% probability of success or less)
Make sure the URL in the brackets starts with 'http://', not just 'www.something.com', or the system will fail to see it as a valid link.

I just realized that I shouldnt put any spaces before and after the link

I can't make bullet points in my thread. I've started the line with asterisk followed by space and then my text and it doesn't work. Any ideas how to fix that?
Same here... It doesn't work :(

PSA
There is an impersonator trying to scam you using my name. Please take a look at this thread and warn as much people as you can. Thank you.
Shouldn't this thread be closed?
some use
or perhaps, it could be used to test ou some formatting :-)
Yeah this is a bit bugged... it confuses horizontal line with heading2
There! It doesn't if you leave an empty line.
linky
Should be noted that links require the HTTP part...

+1 for an option to find your own thread.
It would also be massively helpful to have an option to find a specific users thread. Typing their name in the search box does nothing :(
